Milky way photography in Kamien Slaski Poland

This was my first time ever trying milky way photography and it was while at SEM 2026 in Poland, mentioned in my previous post. I had been planning to take this photo ever since i knew i was going, checking the view of the sky in these days along with the levels of light pollution which while not that low, were quite low compared to where i live.

I used my trusty EOS 6D with my 28-125mm Canon lens at it’s widest aperture at f3.5. I think exposure time was 13 seconds or so. I took 18 photos with the Magic Lantern intervalometer and stacked the pictures using Sequator. This should drastically improve noise in order to make processing easier. Afterwards, I processed the photos in Darktable to make them look better and really bring out the colors of the milky way.

I really, really hope i get to do this again, being able to see the stars this way is really a beautiful experience, even the stars i could see just with my naked eyes.

First time entering an airport and flying with a plane, very exciting. Now we set up camp in the racing ring and are to sleep soon.

I also took some very nice portraits but I’ll keep those only for my portfolio.

I really like how film generally looks so i tried to make it feel a little like it. Used Darktable for the first time on these and was really happy with the workflow. I also don’t like to over-edit and have as natural looking a result as possible, i think these ones turned out well.

This last one is the whole team
